Let Us Believe in the Beginning of the Cold Season Virtual Event: Elizabeth T. Gray Jr. and Niloufar Talebi in conversation

www.eventbrite.com

This virtual event, hosted by the Brookline Booksmith Transnational Literature Series at Brookline Booksmith, honors Elizabeth T. Gray Jr. and Niloufar Talebi, and their respective translation of Let Us Believe in the Beginning of the Cold Season by Forough Farrokhzad and Elegies of the Earth by Ahmad Shamlou.

Both translated from Persian, Elegies of the Earth is a sweeping centennial edition of Iran's iconic twentieth century poet of liberty, and Let Us Believe in the Beginning of the Cold Season is a ravishing work by Iran's trailblazing feminist poet. The translators will read from their translations of these indispensable texts, and discuss their weaving themes, resonances, and departures.

This free-to-attend virtual event will feature readings by translators Elizabeth T. Gray Jr. and Niloufar Talebi and a discussion of their recent publications: Let Us Believe in the Beginning of the Cold Season by Forough Farrokhzad and translated by Elizabeth T. Gray Jr., and Elegies of the Earth by Ahmad Shamlou and translated by Niloufar Talebi.
